Course Description
Time Management: Setting SMART Goals examines the principles of efficiency and effectiveness and how goal setting, prioritization, and planning can transform the way you manage your time. This course explores the SMART goal-setting model, strategies for distinguishing between important and urgent tasks, and foundational theories of time from Newton to Einstein. Learners will walk away with practical tools and frameworks for becoming more productive, focused, and intentional in both their professional and personal lives.
Course Learning Objectives
At the end of this course, learners will be able to:
- Distinguish between efficiency and effectiveness and explain their relevance to time management
- Define the SMART goal-setting model and apply it to both short-term and long-term goals
- Develop a prioritized task list and create a plan for managing time more effectively
- Explain the concept of the “tyranny of the urgent” and describe how it impacts productivity
- Differentiate between important and urgent tasks and apply this distinction to daily decision-making
- Describe Newton’s and Einstein’s contrasting theories of time and explain their relevance to personal time management
