Getting Started

Yes. The new site requires you to create a free account before enrolling in a course. Look for the Log In / Register link at the top of any page. Once your account is set up, you can enroll in courses, track your progress, and access your certificates all from your profile dashboard.

Browse by subject area: Care Ethics, Professional Ethics, Drug Abuse Prevention, Palliative Care, Prevention of Disease, and more or visit the full course list to see everything available. If you’re working toward a specific CE requirement, check with your state licensing board to confirm the course topic qualifies before enrolling.

Yes. You can browse all course descriptions and learning objectives before enrolling or paying anything.

Enrolling & Paying

Find the course you want, click “Enroll Now,” and follow the prompts to complete payment. You’ll need to be logged in to your account first. Once payment is confirmed, the course will be immediately available in your profile dashboard.

Payment is completed online by credit card at the time of enrollment.

No. Refunds are not available. We encourage you to review the course description and objectives carefully before enrolling.

Taking a Course

Log in to your account and go to My Profile. Your enrolled courses will appear in your dashboard. Click on any course to pick up where you left off.

Yes. All exams are open-book. You are encouraged to refer to the course material while answering questions.

A score of 75% or higher is required to pass and receive your certificate.

You can study the material again and retake the exam at no additional charge.

Certificates

Once you pass your exam, your certificate will be available immediately in your profile dashboard. Log in, go to My Profile, find the course under My Courses, and click to view or print your certificate.

Yes. All your certificates are stored in your account under My Profile and can be retrieved at any time you’re logged in. NOTE: If you got your certificate before May 2026, please email support@cecourses.org for a copy.

3-Hour vs. 30-Hour Courses

3-hour courses are individual modules priced at $21 each. 30-hour courses bundle ten related modules into a single course with one comprehensive 60-question exam, priced at $63. The 30-hour option is the better value if you need a large block of CE hours in one subject area.

No. The 30-hour mastery courses have a single comprehensive exam. You do not need to take the shorter exams linked within each individual module.

There are currently 50+ courses available, spanning ethics, statistics, substance use disorders, palliative care, preventive care, and more.

Accreditation & State Approval

Yes. Klimes Institute is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number CEP 16854.

California BRN approval carries reciprocity in certain other states, including Alaska, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Nevada, and Ohio. CE requirements vary by state and license type, so we strongly recommend checking with your state licensing board before enrolling.

Yes. Courses are designed for nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals. Please verify with your licensing board that the specific course topic meets your CE requirements.
